Description and Indications

DESCRIPTION:

Hexamine is a condensated heterocyclic organic compound, obtained by the reaction of ammonia with formaldehyde. Hexamine decomposes in acidic urine to yield formaldehyde, which acts as a urinary antiseptic and as an effective diuretic.

                                 

INDICATIONS:

SPECTRA MEEN is indicated for treatment of urinary tract infections, such as Nephritis, Nephrosis, Avian monocytisis (blue comb) and visceral gout.

SPECTRA MEEN is also used as prophylaxis in cases of kidney and chemical intoxication and is considered to be an effective urinary antiseptic.

 

Dosage

ROUTE OF ADMINISTRATION: Oral            

DOSAGE:

Poultry     : 1 gm / 1 L of drinking water daily for 3- 5 days.

 

 

Pharmaceutical Precautions

Do not administer SPECTRA MEEN with sulfonamide because it may form insoluble precipitates
